Why are online lessons effective?
Do you believe in traditional attendance education? Have you wanted to embark on the biggest adventure of your life with the Hungarian language for a long time, but online lessons discourage you? During the pandemic situation, going ONLINE is basically the only option. It’s obviously entirely safe, as you don’t have to take any risks. Your health and safety are the most important things in these days.
I absolutely understand your fears, I also prefer personal presence. I miss everything what you miss, I want to go back downtown too. I miss my backpack, but I realized that if I only focus on the dark side of staying at home, I will lose my mind. One year ago I could not have imagined how teaching would work without the personal energy. We all want to get back to our „normal” lives, we miss our social life, our freedom and we want to leave our homes. Everywhere I go, I always see the negative side of this situation, what we are missing, what we can’t do…
This post is not about that! This post will try to show you the positive side! Let’s see the advantages of online teaching! As a teacher, I have been teaching online for almost a year and I still enjoy my job. 😊 Currently I’m working with 29 students of all levels and locations, coming from the USA, Scotland, France, Budapest, Bratislava, etc. Don’t forget, you can always find the bright side of life. I hope I can help change your point of view about online teaching. Here is my list based on my own experience and my students opinions.
3 reasons why online lessons are effective:
- It is easy to focus, to pay attention online, especially in groups. The screen attracts the eye and attention. You are alone in front of your computer, there is nothing to distract you.
- All interactive tools are available in one place at the touch of a button, making lessons dynamic, simple, and colorful.
- Direct Internet use makes all the curriculum, notes and assignments easier and more transparent, manageable and categorized. Online dictionaries are available in a matter of seconds and you can share practically anything, be it an audio file, video, picture or presentation.
Advantages of online lessons:
- No time wasted for travel – more time for work
- Comfortable environment – always good coffee😊
- Saving time and money
- No heavy backpacks – all books are on the shelves
- Interactive tools are available at the touch of a button
- No printing and copying – no wasting of paper
- No borders – teachers from everywhere
- Push the red button and be back at home
- Learn from anywhere
- Better focus
- White board and documents via email
- Even if not feeling 100% well you can still join the lesson
- Comfort zone – learn from your couch
- Greater flexibility
- Less stress – more patience
